What is the World Top 20 Education Poll?

The World Top 20 Education Poll gives annual rankings for the top 20 educational systems from 209 countries. The ranking of each country is based on five levels of education including early-childhood enrollment rates as well as Elementary Math, Science and Reading scores Middle School Math, Science and Reading scores and high school Graduation rates and college Graduation rates.

Each level is a way of ranking the top 20 nations by providing a country with 20 points for its first-place rank and 19 points for a second rank then on to one point for 20th rank. The information is used to calculate the country's ranking using a statistical mean that is based on a total score from the five levels.

The data's statistical information are gathered from six international organisations - for example, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) The United Nations' Economic and Social Council (UNESOC), The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) The Trends of International Mathematical and Scientific Study (TIMSS) along with Progress in International Reading Study (PIRLS). Then , send the information to each country's Ministry of Education Department to ensure that the information is correct.

Its World Top 20 Education Poll purpose is to act as a single entity to ensure that each child's chance to achieve their maximum potential, through collaboration with nations to enhance their educational system. The poll's founder is The New Jersey Minority Educational Development (NJMED) group is also the programmers for the 100 Graduation Rate Program which works students who are the most difficult to reach that are at-risk minorities within the United States. The 100 Graduation Rate Program grew the graduation rate of high school by 49 percent in one of the U.S. most deprived and violent city, Camden, New Jersey between 1996 and 2006.
